The screen you land on
Everything that matters, before you tap anything
Home is where the app opens: your cat, the record button, what is due, any condition you are managing, and six status tiles.
Your cat, at the top
Photo, name, breed, life stage, sex and latest weight, plus the body condition score out of 9 and the ideal weight it implies. If a vet-prescribed weight plan is running, its status sits right under the name.
- Tap the pencil to edit the profile
- Several cats switch with one tap
- Body condition and ideal weight shown once you have scored it
Record, front and center
A cat says something once and then goes quiet, so recording is never more than one tap from the moment you open the app.
- One tap to capture a meow, trill, hiss or yowl
- History and Insights beside it
- Your last read shown, so you can pick it up again
What is due today
A single line that reads either “Nothing overdue”, or the number of care items that need doing. No digging through a calendar to find out.
- Vaccines, parasites, litter, grooming, vet visits
- Highlighted only when something is actually due
Medications and conditions
Doses still to give today and, for a cat with diabetes, kidney disease or an overactive thyroid, a line for each condition: today’s insulin or medicine and the latest glucose; the IRIS stage your vet gave and whether sub-Q fluids are due; or the thyroid home-sign check.
- Doses given against doses due
- A condition line is highlighted when a reading or home sign needs attention
The tiles
Six tiles, one plain word each
Each tile gives a word or two (Up to date, Due soon, Overdue, Not logged) with a colored dot, and a tap opens the screen behind it.
Play
Minutes of play today against the target for your cat’s life stage, 20–40 a day for a young adult. It reads On target, Well played, Needs more or Needs play.
Vaccines
FVRCP and rabies decide it, plus FeLV for kittens (AAHA/AAFP 2020). It reads Up to date, Due soon, Incomplete or Overdue.
Grooming
The litter scoop and change, nails, brushing and ears from the care calendar, with a count of anything due soon or overdue.
Parasites
Flea and tick, heartworm, and deworming or the faecal test. It says Protected only when every one is logged and current.
Stool
The latest stool check, scored 1–7 with the warning flags for blood, black stool, mucus and worms.
Water
Today’s bowl water against a target from body weight and diet, and the litter box signs: straining with nothing coming out turns it into an emergency.
Below the tiles: your last vitals check in one line, and buttons for 30 and 90-day trends, the vet report and every other health tool.
Why it works this way
The anti-maze
Two taps to anything
Thirty-plus tools is a lot of app. The dashboard is what stops that becoming a maze: every tool in FelineSense is two taps from this screen, and the things you do daily are one. Nothing is buried in a menu you have to learn.
Designed to be read in three seconds
You should be able to open the app while the kettle boils and know whether anything needs you. That is the whole job of this screen: not to show you data, but to tell you whether you can put the phone down.
No separate “summary” logic
Each tile runs the exact same rule as the full screen behind it. A tile can never tell you things are fine while the screen it links to disagrees: a quiet but important promise when the subject is your cat’s health.
